Long Distance Calling to wyróżniająca się grupa na post rockowej mapie. Mają swój dość charakterystyczny styl, są bez wątpienia odważni i mają pomysł. Jak na gatunek, w którym się poruszają, są też nawet popularni. Ich mocny, bardzo gitarowy post rock/ post metal może się podobać. „Avoid The Light” to niezła płyta, może zbyt mechaniczna, a za mało organiczna, ale z pewnością ciekawa.

En Declin - Trama (2005)

En Declin is one of the outstanding bands in Italian Melodic scene. Trzeci studyjny album warszawskiej formacji dowodzonej przez Mirka Gila. Zbiór jedenastu utworów, jak pisze zespół: "Dla ludzi lubiących słuchać i szukać sensu w dźwiękach". Teksty na płytę napisał Robert Sieradzki, autor słów dwóch poprzednich albumów i oddany przyjaciel zespołu. Muzyka zaś jest wypadkową przeżyć i gustów członków Believe.

Na albumie grupę wsparli Paulina Druch (wiolonczela) i Bartek Zbroszczyk (gitara). Miksu płyty dokonał Włodek Kowalczyk, polski producent odpowiedzialny za realizację muzyczną takich legend, jak Klaus Mitffoch, Róże Europy, Daab, Oddział Zamknięty, Dezerter czy Lady Pank. Zespół w celu uzyskania jeszcze lepszego brzmienia nawiązał współpracę ze świetnym brytyjskim inżynierem dźwięku, Andym Jacksonem, odpowiedzialnym za realizacje płyt Pink Floyd i Davida Gilmoura.

Perspecto - Climax EP (2009)

Perspecto to już dla wielu fanów polskiej alternatywy marka, znak jakości. Najnowsza EP-ka potwierdza, że zespół to w pełni ukształtowany i na tyle świadomy tego, co robi, że stać go na dopieszczenie swojego brzmienia do najdrobniejszego szczegółu. Pod tym względem Climax zostawia Unisono Disonance o całe lata świetlne w tyle; nie zmienił się za to styl i sposób komponowania.

Zespołów takich jak Perspecto jest na świecie pod dostatkiem; wszystkie brzmią dość podobnie, tworząc spójny nurt, który nazwijmy sobie umownie progcore’em. Wszyscy wyszli kiedyś od hard core’a (a jeszcze wcześniej z zupy pełnej minerałów - znamy to, znamy), stopniowo nasycając swoje kompozycje coraz bardziej wyrafinowaną techniką wykonawczą, tym samym zbliżając się do rocka progresywnego. Również utwory Perspecto cechuje imponująca sprawność muzyków - pełne są niespodziewanych zwrotów akcji, zmian tempa i klimatu. A jednocześnie ciągle bardzo melodyjne. Na szczęście dla przeciętnego słuchacza na Climax EP nie ma jakichś karkołomnych połamańców czy naprawdę przegiętych akcji w stylu The Mars Volta. Mimo często skomplikowanych figur rytmicznych (helloł do perkusisty), całość ma jednak dość gładki szlif i słucha się jej bezboleśnie.

Sylvan - Posthumous Silence (2006)

With their fifth studio CD ‘POSTHUMOUS SILENCE’ the German art-rock band SYLVAN announces their return and presents at the same time their eagerly awaited first concept album. A complex plot and over 70 minutes of beautiful, touching music is a guarantee for an unforgettable, emotional experience.

Again SYLVAN is able to fascinate the audience with multilayered sound designs, catchy melodies, emotionally intense atmospheres or hard bits, all coupled with complex thematic motifs. The captivating guitar riffs perfectly blend with wonderful melodies, spherical and psychedelic parts, all combined to a whole by the recognizable voice of Marco Glühmann and several instrumental passages.

Wokalista z tytułem doktora fizyki, otoczony czwórką znakomitych muzyków. Tak w telegraficznym skrócie przedstawić można niemiecki zespół Sylvan. Swym ostatnim albumem „Posthumous Silence” podbił on serca rzeszy słuchaczy.
Historia zespołu rozpoczęła się w 1991 roku, w Hamburgu. Wtedy to trójka szkolnych kolegów: klawiszowiec Volker Söhl, gitarzysta Kay Söhl oraz perkusita Matthias Harder postanowiła założyć własną grupę rockową. Jej pierwsza nazwa to: Chamäleon. Wkrótce dołaczył (ale tylko na krótko) do nich wokalista i basista w jednej osobie: Marko Heisig. W 1995 roku jego miejsce zajął Marco Glühmann i właśnie wtedy zespół przyjął obecną nazwę. Słowo Sylvan pochodzi od „Sylvanus” - nazwy boga lasów.

Anaura are 5 young musicians near Stuttgart, Germany who got together in 2006 to play ambitious, experimental and emotional rock music.

The Mars Volta - Octahedron (2009) *****

Octahedron is the stunning new album from The Mars Volta. An album heady with the emotion and high-drama that has always been the band's trademark, their newfound simplicity and focus has delivered some of the most immediate and powerful songs in their discography. Maudlin of the Well – Part The Second (2009)

Experimental, orchestral, ambient, progressive rock and metal music. It is like and avant jazz something. It is quite strange and interesting at the same time. A great album from a great band. The tracks are actually new releases, but some parts of them are ideas and inspirations from the older records, that never been in them. These are not b sides; these are great tracks, and new recordings at all. Dark atmosphere, theatrical view, cinematic orchestra style, experimentalisms, and great compositions.
# 4 in 2009
